National Library of Ireland

Inspired by one of the door panels of the Reading room. Such a beautiful space and very kindly opened to us for our sketching session today with Dublin Sketchers. This bird caught my attention, though I may have abstracted it a little! Thank you again to the National Library for being so welcoming.

Iveagh Gardens - May 1st

My little contribution from yesterday - such a beautiful day. Love the Iveagh Gardens, tried out a new brush pen but I think I have resigned to the fact that I can't use it properly and we will be parting ways, it's not the brush.. it's me.. or something to that effect!

Leaves are back

 Leaves are back
I haven't been out sketching in ages and had visitors this weekend, so couldn't make it to the regular Sunday meetup, so instead I brought out my camera to keep me occupied. These lovely leaves were taken up at IMMA in the formal gardens there, which are absolutely beautiful. Hope to get out sketching again soon though!

Kilmainham IMMA

  Lady in the Lillies

Farewell to the Red Coats

Loved the Moderns Exhibition today in the IMMA - what amazing work. So sorry that I hadn't gone to see it before today. The first image above was done from an image and the second from a poem on a wall downstairs. Was trying out a new brush pen - which I found isn't really my cup of tea, can't get any detail in - but it was fun to try and very quick - as I spent most of my time browsing the exhibition and did these two in the 30mins before we all met up again in the cafe!
